Slow Down Molasses Return with New Song "Street Haunting"
The Saskatoon outfit's first material in five years arrives mixed by Yamantaka // Sonic Titan's Alaska B
Published Apr 06, 2021Slow Down Molasses have shared a new single, marking their first material in five years. You can hear the Saskatoon outfit's "Street Haunting" alongside a video below.
Its accompanying clip, helmed by Aaron Scholz, follows a day in the life of a frantic raccoon, spent songwriting, dog-walking, rifling through records and (of course) rummaging in the trash.
In frontman Tyson McShane's words, "Street Haunting" concerns "the casual, but oft under-appreciated beauty of the urban environment and the predictability of a person's daily tasks… A place sometimes overflowing with creative energy, but where it often necessary to remind oneself of the casual brilliance of one's peers and the places we typically tend to haunt."
"Street Haunting" marks the first release from Slow Down Molasses since 2016 full-length 100% Sunshine, which Exclaim! gave a 9/10.
Arriving through Noyes and Divine Schism, "Street Haunting" was mixed by Yamantaka // Sonic Titan's Alaska B, and was mastered by Ryan Morey (Big Brave, Suuns, Besnard Lakes).
