Smashing Pumpkins are once again looking back at their glory days with a new live release. Today Billy Corgan announced he'll give fans a new archival live release called Live at the Viper Room 1998.

Corgan made the reveal today on the band's Instagram, saying the vinyl release will be up for pre-order this Saturday (July 31) through his Madame ZuZu's website.

As the title makes clear, the album was recorded back in 1998 at the famed Hollywood venue, and it's apparently an acoustic effort.

"The thing you hear in the Viper Room show is you're really sort of being allowed into the studio where the songs don't have the accouterment of all the bells and whistles," Corgan said in the Instagram post. "There's a certain innocence before songs are released to the world."

The release follows Live in Japan, 1992, and considering how quickly that vinyl effort sold out, you may want to start getting ready for the Saturday drop ASAP.
